SwissLitho developed novel nanolithography technology for creating nanostructures. Their lithography systems were primarily used within research institutions. In February 2018 Heidelberg Instruments acquired 70% of the outstanding shares of SwissLitho for an undisclosed amount with the goal to extend their product portfolio within the market niche. SwissLitho remains in Zurich after the acquisition.
